We’ve created a complete set of step-by-step resources to support educators in delivering engaging river workshops, whether in the classroom, at home or on the riverbank.
There are five workshops available covering life in our rivers, issues they face and things we need to consider to protect and improve them.
The workshops have been designed to be suitable for ages 7-11, however the addition of stretch activities and detailed explanations enables educators to customise workshops to suit both older and younger learners.
Educational Value & Engagement
Every workshop is designed to be both engaging and educational, aligning with the Welsh curriculum whilst encouraging curiosity and critical thinking.
Learners take part in practical investigations, discussions and self-led activities that connect directly to real-world environmental issues.
In-river Confidence & Safety
For our in-river sessions, we’ve included safety guidance and draft risk assessments, helping you to feel prepared and supported when taking learning outdoors.
