We’re delighted that we have been awarded £46,673 by the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund for our Valleys River Restorers project.
This exciting initiative will reconnect local people with the rivers of the Upper Afan Valley through:
- Community events, workshops and river walks
- Habitat restoration and native planting
- Creating better spaces for wildlife
- Improved access to local rivers and green spaces
- Helping people gain skills to protect their environment
By combining practical action, education and volunteering, the project will help create healthier rivers, richer biodiversity and stronger community connections for years to come.
We are very excited about this opportunity to reconnect local communities with their rivers and make a lasting difference to the biodiversity of the beautiful Afan Valley. We are already getting stuck in working with local communities to plan our next round of river improvement works for the river. Please keep an eye on our social media for how to get involved, or look out for our flyers around the area!
