Amcangyfrifir bod dros 90% o’n hafonydd yn y DU wedi cael eu haddasu gan bobl drwy arferion megis sythu, g\u00f4r-ehangu, carthu, draenio gorlifdiroedd ac ychwanegu rhwystrau mewn afonydd. Mae’r addasiadau hyn i gyd yn effeithio ar brosesau naturiol ac felly maent yn niweidiol i iechyd a bioamrywiaeth afonydd.<\/p>\n

Mae adfer afonydd yn cyfeirio at sawl gweithgaredd gwahanol sy’n adfer cyflwr a swyddogaeth naturiol afon.\u00a0\u00a0Mae Ymddiriedolaeth Afonydd Gorllewin Cymru yn chwilio yn rheolaidd am gyfleoedd i adfer llwybrau naturiol afonydd drwy gael gwared ar rwystrau (gweler isod) neu drwy ‘ail-ddolennu’ a\/neu ailgysylltu gorlifdiroedd lle nad yw tir yn cael ei ddatblygu neu o werth amaethyddol isel. Lle nad yw cyfyngiadau yn caniat\u00e1u hyn, rydym yn ceisio gwella amrywiaeth cynefinoedd o fewn y sianeli presennol trwy gyflwyno ‘deunydd coediog mawr’ neu drwy gael gwared ar ochrau glannau afon peirianneg galed o blaid gwrthgloddiau naturiol.<\/p>\n

Rydym hefyd wedi darparu sawl cilometr o ffensys i wahardd da byw ac atal potsio o\u2019r glannau, ynghyd a phlannu coed ar lan afonydd i\u2019w cadw\u2019n oer a hidlo d\u0175r ffo.<\/p>\n

        Mae Ymddiriedolaeth Afonydd Gorllewin Cymru wedi mapio’r mwyafrif o\u2019r rhwystrau yn ein dalgylch ac wedi cael cryn lwyddiant wrth gael gwared ar, neu liniaru, llawer ohonynt er mwyn rhyddhau cannoedd o gilomedrau o afonydd i bysgod mudol, yn ogystal ac, yn bwysig iawn, i ail-naturioli llifoedd ac adfer cynefin.         Rhywogaethau Estron Goresgynnol<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        Mae rhywogaethau estron goresgynnol yn anifeiliaid neu blanhigion nad ydynt wedi cytrefu’n naturiol ond sydd wedi’u cyflwyno (yn ddamweiniol neu’n fwriadol) gan bobl ac sydd bellach \u00e2’r gallu i beri bygythiad i’r amgylchedd, economi neu bobl. Ar hyn o bryd, mae dros 2000 o blanhigion anfrodorol wedi’u sefydlu yn y DU ond nid yw pob un o’r rhain yn ymledol. Mae tua 15% o’r planhigion hyn yn fygythiad i’n ffordd o fyw ac, ar \u00f4l sefydlu, mae eu difrod yn anwrthdroadwy, trwy ddifrod i seilwaith fel ffyrdd a thai, colli bioamrywiaeth trwy gystadlu \u00e2 rhywogaethau brodorol, a difrodi cynefinoedd afon.         Mae Ymddiriedolaeth Afonydd Gorllewin Cymru yn gweithio i fapio a nodi cyfleoedd ariannu a phartneriaeth i ddileu a rheoli rhywogaethau estron goresgynnol (INNS) er mwyn hyrwyddo bioamrywiaeth, lleihau perygl llifogydd a diogelu ein hafonydd.<\/p>\n
