We are working on a project to improve on the volumes of agricultural plastics being recycled in Wales. We will be working with agricultural plastics collectors, recyclers and farmers, as well as building on previous research, to develop a more cost-effective program for farmers across Wales to collect and recycle silage wrap. Our aim is to create subsidised agricultural products such as fencing materials from the recycled plastic, to create circular benefits.

We want to hear from farmers in Wales about current practices and preferences for disposal of silage plastics. If you are a farmer in Wales who uses silage and would like to participate in our research, please contact Harriet: harrietthompson@westwalesriverstrust.org. All survey responses will be anonymous and you will be reimbursed for your time.

This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
